Subject: [PW!] Icy's first battle

Last time, Icy and his pokémon set up camp just outside of
Saffron City.
He caught his very first pokémon, a Pidgey, with his Abra. Now, Icy
continues on his hike toward Vermilion City.
"Ahh, fresh air and sun shine. What a perfect
morning..." His words
are interupted by the voice of a younger trainer.
"C'mon Rattata... Yes! Good work... Huh..." The boy
looks up and
sees Icy appoaching. "Hey, you're a pokémon trainer, right?"
"Yes," replies Icy. Icy wonders for a second what the
boy is getting
at.
"You wanna battle. How many pokémon do you have. I've got a
Rattata
and a Pidgey. Oh.. My name's Mike. What's yours?"
"Icy. Pleased to meet you. I've got two pokémon also, a
Pidgey and an
Abra."
"Wow! An Abra! Really! How did you get that? Ahh, nevermind.
C'mon,
wanna battle? Pleeeasssse..."
"Hmmmm... Sure."
The two trainers select their starting pokémon for the match. Icy
starts out with his new Pidgey while Mike releases Rattata.
"Rattata! Use your hyper fang to creame that Pidgey!"
Rattata lunges
for the Pidgey.
"Pidgey. Fly high to evade and counter with a gust
attack." Pidgey
evades the attack and blows Rattata into a tree. "Hehehe, nice job Pidgey,
now finish it off with your Wing Attack!"
Mike is worried now. "Rattata, use your quick attack!"
Mike 's Ratata
sucsessfully evades Pidgey's wings and smashes it to the ground. Now it's
Icy who is worried. "Tackle it Rattata!" Rattata pounds the Pidgey into
the tree knocking it out.
"Oh no, Pidgey... Uh... Return!" The beam from the
pokéball takes
Pidgey back. "All right, I'll show you. Go Abra!"
"Aaaabraaa..."
"Abra! Confusion attack!" Abra uses its confusion attack
to confuse
Rattta and it accidentally knocks itself out as it lunges into a tree.
"Huh... Errrr... Rattata return. Pidgey GO! Blow that Abra
sky high!"
The Pidgey tries to blow the Abra away with its Gust attack but Icy
telekenetically has Abra uses Confusion to send the attack back at Pidgey.
"What... Hey, how did you do that? You didn't order Abra to use that
attack..." Mike seems to be the one who is confused now.
"I can control my psychic pokémon using telekinesis,"
replies Icy
proudly. "Well, I guess that makes my Abra the winner!"
"Ah, you just got lucky. So, where are you headed?"
"Vermilion City. Then through Digletts' Cave to Pallet
Town." Icy's
facial expression changes from determined to joyfull in the hopefullness of
friendship.
"Vermilion City? Cool! That's where I live. I could go with
you and
show you around."
"OK. That would be wonderful." Icy feels overjoyed that
he has made a
new friend. It seems that Mike doesn't mind Icy's psychic abilities which
makes Icy feel even better. As the two trainers head for Vermilion City
together, they both realize that their destinies are somehow linked.
